Göreme National Park, Cappadocia, Turkey

The region of Cappadocia, Turkey was one of the more intriguing natural wonders I found because of the unique rock formations known as "Fairy Chimneys". These "Fairy Chimneys", I discovered, are rock formations that have formed by the erosion of a volcanic based plateau because of strong winds and ancient floods.

Not only has Göreme National Park been described as unique but the landscape has also been described as fantastically surreal as is evident in the image of the fairy chimneys.
